Position Summary/Essential Duties:
The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner is responsible for assisting the supervising physician(s) within the supervising physician's normal course of practice to provide quality care for patients and to increase patient access and satisfaction. Standard tasks to be performed by a physician assistant under Direct Supervision, On-Site Supervision, or Off-Site Supervision if specified by the Ohio State Medical Board to include:
1. Assess patients
2. Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform physical exams
3. Order and perform routine diagnostic procedures
4. Develop and implement treatment plans
5. Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
6. Provide instruction to meet patient needs
7. Institute and change orders on patient charts as directed by the supervising physician

Experience & Knowledge:
Demonstrated competence as a practitioner.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
A variety of technical patient care devices specific to the clinical area. Computers and selected office equipment
Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:
Must have computer skills to access patient medical data from UHHS mainframe.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Nurse Practitioner: Nursing Doctorate or Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis on clinical practice.
Physician Assistant: Completion of a formal Physician Assistant training from an accredited program with NCCPA certification.
Required Credentials, Licensure or Certification:
Current Registered Nurse licensure to practice in Ohio.
Current APRN license to practice in Ohio.
Nurse Practitioner certification (Family Medicine)
Current prescriptive authority.
Previous experience is strongly preferred.
Previous work in emergency room or urgent care is preferred.
Must be flexible and able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
