Adjunct Instructors are temporary, part-time faculty. Antelope Valley College invites applications for our applicant pool for the Accounting discipline.

As an instructor in the growing Career Technical Education division, you will become a member of a student-oriented division whose primary focus is helping students attain their career goals. Your teaching assignment may include a variety of accounting/business courses including, but not limited to: accounting, bookkeeping, business math, and introduction to business.
  • Instruct students in the assigned discipline.
  • Assignment may include teaching courses during the day, evening, on-line courses and/or off-campus sites.
(Applicant must meet one of the following requirements)
  • Most current Minimum Qualifications for Faculty in California Community Colleges:
Master's in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration OR Bachelor's in business with accounting emphasis or business administration with accounting emphasis or economics with an accounting emphasis AND Master's in business, business administration, business education, economics, taxation, or finance OR the equivalent.

(NOTE: A Bachelor's degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration, with a CPA license is an alternative qualification for this discipline)
  • Academic Senate's approved equivalency: Equivalency not needed, per faculty division
AND Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic background of community college students.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Three years of recent industry experience in accounting and business, demonstrating progressively more responsible duties
  • One year of recent community college teaching experience
  • Experience and skills in using instructional methodologies with a variety of resources including computerized technologies such as MS Office Suite, computerized projection systems, and the Internet AND Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic background of community college students.
