Antelope Valley College invites applications for our adjunct (temporary, part-time) faculty applicant pool in the Arts & Humanities Division for the following discipline: Art - Ceramics
Most current Minimum Qualifications for Faculty in California Community Colleges:
Master's in fine arts, art, or art history OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in humanities OR equivalent.
Note: “Master's in fine arts” as used here refers to any master's degree in the subject matter of fine arts, which is defined to include visual studio arts such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, and metal and jewelry art; and also art education and art therapy. It does not refer to the “Master of Fine Arts” (MFA) degree when that degree is based on specialization in performing arts or dance, film, video, photography, creative writing or other nonplastic arts. - Expertise and professional experience in ceramics.
- Recent community college or lower division teaching experience.
- Knowledge of standard equipment, procedures, supplies and materials related to ceramics and sculpture.
- Knowledge of safe handling procedures for ceramic/sculpture materials.

- Letter of intent that addresses minimum and desirable qualifications.
- Scanned copy of official transcripts with required degree(s). Foreign transcripts and degrees require official certification of equivalency to U.S. transcripts and degrees by a certified U.S. review service at the time of application and must identify graduate level coursework.
- Two (2) current letters of professional reference signed and dated within the last year.
