Nurse Aide/Medication Aide
Nurse Aide/Medication Aide Trainer must have a current LPN or RN license in the State of Nebraska and experience in long-term care preferred. Three years relevant experience required. Will work days, evenings and occasional weekend hours and assist program director. Must have effective communication and computer skills and willing to work with students. Through prior work experience, education or combination of both, must have knowledge and ability to teach and demonstrate skills needed to become a licensed CNA. All instruction is completed in compliance with NE Department of Health and Human Services Program Certification requirements.
Nurse Assisting and Medication Aide Trainer utilize appropriate lesson plans to provide effective teaching strategies in the classroom. Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning. Demonstrates a strong understanding of the skills needed to train students seeking to become Nurse Aides (CNA), to include past employment, but not limited to nurse aide, supervision of nurses, home care, education, other long-term care settings. Applicants must hold a current LPN or RN license and have supervisory experience in a long-term care facility or related healthcare field. Seeking applicants to teach Nurse Aide (CNA) courses in Kearney, NE, and surrounding area. Will teach 76-hour Nursing Assisting and Medication Aide courses. Must be flexible with work schedule to include working days and evening hours.
Math and Physics Instructor
Will hold a Master's degree or higher in Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering, or Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Master's degree in Math and a minimum of 12 graduate credits in Physics or Engineering and five (5) years of collective relevant work experience equating to 3 graduate credits or 10 years of collective relevant work experience equating to a maximum of 6 credits or 3-6 graduate credits in a related subfield or combination thereof, or Master's degree in Physics and a minimum of 12 graduate credits in Math or Engineering and five (5) years of collective relevant work experience equating to 3 graduate credits or 10 years of collective relevant work experience equating to a maximum of 6 credits or 3-6 graduate credits in a related subfield or combination thereof, or Master's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 12 graduate credits in Math or Physics and five (5) years of collective relevant work experience equating to 3 graduate credits or 10 years of collective relevant work experience equating to a maximum of 6 credits or 3-6 graduate credits in a related subfield or combination thereof.
-A relatively high level of analytical ability is required for curriculum development and course design aligned with Concepts of Universal Design and Quality Matters, for advising and/or referring students, preparing course plans, and/or other activities.
-A substantial level of interpersonal skills to provide guidance and referrals for students regarding sensitive issues.
-Must have knowledge of Instructional Technology and college software to include: Microsoft Word, Instructional Design Program (WIDS), Moodle, Web-Ex, etc.
-Applicants must have strong interpersonal, oral and written skills.
-The knowledge and experience in teaching a diverse student population enrolled in academic transfer and career and technical programs.
-Ability to teach courses over a variety of offering times from morning through evening, and possibly weekends.
General Summary
Instruction of Mathematics and Physics that include: Applied Calculus, Occupational Math, Elementary/Intermediate/College Algebra, Analytic Geometry, Statistics, Trigonometry, Physics, and Pre-Engineering courses. The instructor will collaborate with the Dean, Associate Dean and, as appropriate, the program director in order to assist students in accessing, learning and attaining educational goals; facilitate learning by providing varied learning experiences and teaching in instructional modalities for a diverse student population, as assigned. Furthermore, Instructor will professionally represent the college, its role and mission, including recruiting. . The instructor will meet the education and work experience standards set forth in the job specifications. The instructor will perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with college policies and procedures and accreditation standards. Responsibilities include: curriculum development, assessment of student learning, course revision and redesign, student advising, and utilization of modern teaching strategies and techniques for servicing a diverse student population.
Criminal Justice Instructor
Requires a Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Juris Doctorate (JD) or related discipline with at least two (2) years of Law Enforcement or related criminal justice industry experience. A bachelor's degree or higher in Criminal Justice or related discipline with five (5) years of relevant work experience within the field of criminal justice and working towards a Master's degree or Juris Doctorate will be considered. Ideal candidates will have worked in the Criminal Justice Field and can bring real-life experience in to the classroom setting in both lecture and online/distance learning classes. Prior college teaching experience is desired along with a passion for teaching and energy to bring a student-focused attitude. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills, good communication skills, computer skills, ability to work with a diverse student population, an engaging teaching style and a variety of teaching methods. Requires flexibility with classes throughout the week to include days, evenings and on-line throughout a two semester academic year (Summer semester is available upon student need). Must be able to work independently and be willing to build relationships with community organizations and members alongside their teaching responsibilities.
General Summary
Seeking a Full-Time instructor to teach Criminal Justice courses at our Grand Island, NE Campus. The individual will need to be open to teaching courses on our Hastings Campus and Kearney Center as student demand increases. Currently, the Criminal Justice Program is available on all campuses and centers utilizing technology platforms for exceptional delivery. Courses will be delivered with a focus in Lecture style-Internet Protocol/Satellite courses and will include various methods such as traditional lectures and web-based formats (Online, WebEx, Hybrid, Web-Blended, etc.). Program support activities, reporting assignments, student advising, curriculum design, promotion & recruiting, participation with various adjunct faculty from all campuses/centers and committee participation will be required.
Position requires the following core instructional duties; but not limited to:
—Update assigned program courses, outlines, and curriculum.
—Prepare materials for assigned courses.
—Participate in the selection of textbooks for assigned courses.
—Maintain an awareness of recent research developments and trends in education and the program area and apply this information to assigned courses.
—Provide instruction in technology appropriate to the job market.
—Use a variety of methods and materials to deliver assigned courses that may include individualized, lectures, discussions, web-based classes, multimedia materials in the classroom, etc.
—Use a variety of teaching methods to meet course goals and objectives that may include hands-on, problem-based, project-based, team teaching, professional speakers, tours, etc.
—Integrate student assessment into student learning activities and curriculum.
—Complete Assessment of Student learning report, Program Review and Universal Design compliance within the Criminal Justice program
Instructional Design Consultant
Required:
Knowledge about curriculum, instruction, administration, and educational programming in order to understand instructional methods, curriculum development, etc. typically acquired through a combination of 3-5 years or more of designing, developing, and implementing curriculum; teaching at a post-secondary or secondary level; and completion of a master's degree in teaching, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or related area. Requires substantial interpersonal skill and an ability to develop and maintain positive, confidential, collegial relationships with faculty and administrators. Requires travel among campuses and learning centers to work with faculty.
General Summary
Provides consultation and support services in instructional design, strategies, assessment, technology, and in the implementation and delivery of courses and curriculum. Serves as a curriculum and program design consultant college-wide. Works with faculty at all instructional locations to plan, develop, and implement learning opportunities that help students achieve success. Supports faculty in the implementation of Quality Matters and Universal Design for Learning standards for courses and program materials. Identifies education technology needs and provides multi-modal learning opportunities for faculty. Provides leadership, consultation, and support for faculty development initiatives.
