- Knowledge of Catholic teachings, theology, social teachings, and practices
- Knowledge of social justice and justice advocacy
- Knowledge of young adult and adult faith and spiritual development
- Sensitivity to issues of women’s spirituality and commitment to developing women as leaders
Our Ideal Candidate’s Education and Experience Include:
- Master’s degree strongly preferred in Pastoral Ministry, Divinity, Theology, or related field
- At least two years of experience in Catholic campus ministry, parish youth, or young adult ministry, with experience on a college campus preferred
This Position:
- Serves as leader in developing programming to foster spiritual reflection and faith development, a commitment to service, and an orientation towards social justice.
- Creates and facilitates opportunities for students, faculty and staff to deepen their understanding of and engagement in Catholic Social Teaching and the Sisters of Mercy Critical Concerns.
- Develops a peer ministry team of students to facilitate small faith-sharing groups for students
- Coordinates and facilitates the alternative break trip program.
- Serves as an advisor to the Campus Ministry service club; chairs the Spirt of Service Committee.
- Plans justice advocacy events for the campus in coordination with the Office for Civic Engagement.
- Plan and facilitate campus activities for Mercy Week.
- Coordinates with local priests to host Mass on weekdays and Sunday
