CCBC is currently seeking an individual prepared to teach various Computer Science and Information Technology lecture and lab courses. Fifteen credit hours of instruction per semester, office hours, college and community service, and ongoing professional development are required. The position is located on one of our campuses but may require teaching classes at other locations scheduled during days, evenings or weekends.

Preferred candidates are enthusiastic about content and pedagogy, use best teaching practices, and are committed to student learning. Preference will be given to applicants who present evidence of excellence in teaching and experience demonstrate the ability to teach across multiple Computer Science and Information Technology disciplines.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. (unofficial transcripts required with application)
  • Two years teaching experience in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred:
  • Work experience as a computer professional
  • Related IT certifications
  • Teach a full range of Computer Science/Information Technology (CSIT) courses including Introduction to Computers and at least one or more of the following: programming, database concepts, or data science.
  • Participates with other faculty in developing and managing courses, curricula, and academic policy. Collaborating with faculty on course curriculum.
  • Mentors students and contributes to the success of the Computer Science/Information Technology program.
  • Supports the community college philosophy through commitment to success of students with diverse goals, backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Commitment to the mission of the community college and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Maintain currency in field(s) through professional development and scholarly activities.
