Jr Designer
We are looking to add a Jr. Designer to our growing design team! Bachelor of Science in Interior Design Degree from accredited University
1-3 years industry experience
Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Sketch Up and/or Revit
Must have proven organizational and follow-through skills
Must have excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and time management
- Be able to help Lead Designer undertake a project from concept to completion
- Create Items for Proposals/Orders/Invoices to Clients
- Minor Accounting - Money In/Out, making sure each item balances out
- Point Person/Project Manager on specific projects with Meredith - clear communication with clients and contractors
- Meeting with Clients & Contractors - Be able to discuss and convey design ideas and details
- Coordinate meetings, installs, and deliveries
- Take Notes and Keep Track of meeting agendas and decisions on site, document with correspondence and pictures
- Advising clients on progress, and providing them with samples to be used
- Create Finish Schedules and keep updated
- Be able to understand all moving parts of construction and design process to make sure design elements are executed correctly by the contractor
- Be able to visualize and create room/home concepts and detailed drawings for clients and vendors for custom fabrications
- AutoCAD - space plan rooms, adjust floor plans, detailed tile installation drawings
- Basic understanding of how things are constructed, i.e.: how tiles are installed to be able to determine correct finish out of a specific layout, or architectural challenges to be addressed
- General knowledge of furniture and furnishings to be able to source selections from a different range of quality and price points to fit a client's budget/needs
- Stay up to date on seasonal introductions of new product and design trends
- Source construction materials, slabs, tile, plumbing, lighting, flooring, hardware
- Be able to design custom draperies along with knowledge of construction and measuring process
- Custom cabinetry - be able to design and draw custom cabinet layouts for bidding or to convey design ideas
- Coordinate and attend installations, and addressing any issues that may arise (damages, parts missing, etc) ensure alignment with design specifications are met
- Keep track of client orders - Entering detailed orders, sending to vendors and follow up/tracking throughout process until delivery to client, making sure accounting is up to date with freight and that clients have been invoiced.
