Morningside University is accepting applications for the full-time position of Career Services & XPath Coordinator. This role serves as a member of the career services department, primarily helping first year students and members of the XPath within the university engagement department. They should be a self-starter who is ready to execute projects and tasks and who has an interest or experience in event management. The individual in this role should be comfortable working one-on-one with students or speaking in front of groups and should have an interest or experience in counseling students regarding career exploration.
Duties & Responsibilities
I. Project Management & Data Tracking a. Plan, coordinate and supervise Peer Mentors, to include delegation of work activity, strategic planning, and reporting. b. Supply needed reports and documents to support the associate vice president of career services and the alumni engagement director.
II. Event Management a. Assist with logistics for career services and alumni programming. b. Work with other Morningside departments as needed for coordinating on- campus events (Scheduling, maintenance, food service, etc.). c. Ensure data related to events is tracked and recorded for future planning and reporting. d. Act as a host, emcee, or event manager as needed. e. Work with XPath faculty to institute career events.
III. Individual Career Counseling & Student Presentation/Events a. Provide support and follow-up for career development and professional development opportunities for Morningside University students. b. Collaborate with academic programs, departments, and senior leadership as needed to develop, plan, and execute career services programming. c. Provide individual and classroom assistance to first-year students on resumes, PathwayU assessments, general career exploration, referrals from other departments, and other related requests as needed. d. Assist with Summer Enrollment Days and Orientation events.
IV. Administrative Duties a. Collect and share media assets as needed in collaboration with marketing and communications. b. Collect and share media assets as needed c. Assist with managing and organizing department interns as requested by the associate vice president for career services
Education and Experiences: • Bachelor’s degree required. • Experience in admissions, counseling, advising, career planning, or comparable role. • Strong organizational and communication skills required. Public speaking skills preferred. • Superior project management skills and must be ready to work in a deadline-orientated environment. • Background or interest in career counseling and/or event management • Comfort technology including computers, cameras, and other mobile devices. • Some evening work and travel is possible
