Public Relations Director
Northeast Community College seeks a Public Relations Director at our Norfolk campus to maintain strong working relationships with regional media outlets; write copy for news releases and college publications; produce a weekly employee newsletter; and serve as the college photographer. The position serves on the president’s cabinet and provides leadership to communications related to college-wide celebrations, annual events, and emergencies. Professional and academic experience in public relations or journalism is required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, publications, communications or related field
- Three years journalism, publications, communications or related field, five years experience preferred
- Requires superior grammatical and proofreading skills; strong interpersonal and verbal communication skill; ability to exercise discretion and judgment; ability to work effectively, independently and as a member of the marketing and public relations team.
Salary & Benefits: This position is in Salary Grade PM7, with a minimum starting salary of $81,000 per annum. The successful candidate’s salary will be calculated based on education and experience within the grade range. This position is eligible for Northeast Community College’s excellent full-time fringe benefits package.
