PR & Social Media Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a candidate with experience working with multiple brands spanning different industries in the social media marketing space. We're looking for a highly organized, strong communicator, client-facing, rock-star that bleeds social media marketing. You should have several examples of campaigns you have created along with statistics regarding how well the campaign worked. You will also be responsible for managing, training, and motivating a team dedicated to social media marketing.
The successful candidate will oversee Social Media campaigns which include but are not limited to research, campaign & content creation, execution, monitoring and reporting. You will also create public relations opportunities for the company relating to new business, news and successes with the goal of OBI and our clients known as a resource and influencer in the online marketing field.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work directly with clients to create a social media strategy that collaborates with marketing, PR and advertising campaigns
- Research top influencers, competitors, and trends in clients' industries
- Create timely and engaging content optimized for platform used and intended audience
- Monitor sites for customer service opportunities and initiate conversations on behalf of the client
- Be happy, smile, and bring a positive attitude to the office
- Analyze and report social media actions on a monthly basis for successes and new opportunities
- Create engaging and professional visuals that reflect client and their brand (Customize social media pages (ex. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube), develop supporting offline collateral, create original content, etc.)
- Stay current with social media trends and tools - includes attending networking and educational events, reading blogs, and listening to podcasts
- Manage social media team members' (includes interns) responsibilities, conduct team meetings, advise on projects, and motivate team members.
- Continue to refine and define our social marketing process
- Work with team to create a solid branding message that's reflected across marketing materials, social media content and shared by employees
Public Relations (PR) Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop opportunities and PR connections for OBI to be used as a resource for public relations (print, online, speaking, consulting)
- Write and schedule press releases based on the company's achievements, new clients, client news and employee achievements
- Develop and implement innovative earned media programs (PR, social media, influencer outreach, etc.) within budgets and time limitations
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and other social media best practices
- Ability to apply knowledge in social media and public relations strategy in a holistic approach to our client's needs
- Practical knowledge of Muck Rack, Cision or Agility news release distribution and monitoring systems
- Practical knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics
- Experience with doing audience and buyer persona research
- Experience working with members of the media
- Good understanding of social media KPIs
- Familiarity with web design
- Outstanding multitasking skills
