Postdoctoral Scholar - Nader Laboratory
A Postdoctoral Scholar position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Gustavo Nader at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park. The position is funded by a new NIH R01 grant focused on novel mechanisms controlling ribosomal RNA gene regulation in skeletal muscle using in vivo (transgenic mice) and in vitro (myogenic cultures) approaches.
The candidate's goal will be to identify transcriptional and epigenetic factors modulating ribosomal production following various challenges to muscle homeostasis. Additional studies will focus on ribosomal function using RiboSeq or similar approaches. Candidates will have a strong research background in Biochemistry or Cell and Molecular Biology, and preferably be proficient in using RNA Seq data analysis pipelines. Opportunities for grant writing and career development awards (i.e. NIH F32) will be available after consultation with the PI.
Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Biochemistry, Cell or Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or related discipline, and a proven record of scholarly achievements in these areas.
