University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine, UMKC Community Health Research Group (CHRG) and the UMKC Health Equity Institute (HEI).

The focus of the UMKC CHRG and UMKC HEI is to address health disparities that burden underserved populations in the Kansas City area and across Jackson County. Specific health disparities areas of focus include: COVID-19, HIV/STDs, diabetes, mental health, infant mortality, and Alzheimer's disease.

Job Description

The duties and responsibilities of this part-time position include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with implementation of community-based study activities with community partners including community-clinic events, health screening events, and community meetings
  • Assembling materials for community-based events
  • Recruiting, screening, consenting and enrolling participants in research studies
  • Contacting and scheduling potential and existing study participants for survey completion and follow-up assessments
  • Assisting with survey and focus group data collection
  • Assisting with data entry and cleaning
  • Completing certification training in human subjects research, diabetes prevention, and other areas relevant to the CHRG and HEI
  • Assisting with delivery of study information through social media outletsand study websites
  • Helping maintain study procedures and documentation
  • Maintaining study records and edits for completeness and accuracy
  • Monitoring study participants as required by study protocol
  • Utilizing approved informed consent and HIPAA procedures
  • Notifying supervisors of any unplanned events that arise
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

A bachelor's degree is required

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as$20.00 - $25.00/hourly. This part-time position will be approximately 10-20 hours per week.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
