Instructor – Logistics & Supply Chain Management
The Management Department in the College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha invites applications for a temporary full-time instructor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. This position will be for a minimum of one year, and may be extended. We seek a candidate with a strong professional record working in logistics and supply chain management and previous experience teaching and developing curricula in corporate and/or university settings. The candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to teaching students of diverse backgrounds and developing the workforce in Omaha.
Growth in enrollment has created departmental needs spanning several areas related to the supply chain management field. The person hired would need to be able to teach in-person courses in the general areas of Operations, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and Purchasing. Some of the teaching needs include in-person sections of graduate and undergraduate courses such as: Operations Management, Introduction to Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Analytics, International Logistics, Industrial Purchasing, Project Management and Managerial Negotiations. The candidate’s preferences and experience will be considered when determining teaching responsibilities, which may also include graduate and online courses in the same areas. A typical teaching load is four courses per semester.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, the person will also complete service responsibilities that can include student mentoring and service on committees at the department, college, and university level. There are no research expectations for this position. This position is renewable annually, contingent on satisfactory performance. Subsequent renewals will also be contingent upon sufficient enrollment and available funding. This position will begin fall of 2025.
Duties include teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; contributing to the diversity, inclusion, and equity efforts of UNO; and providing departmental, university, and professional service.
Successful candidates will have a master’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing, or equivalent from an AACSB accredited institution. Preference will be given to candidates with professional working experience, experience with instruction and/or curriculum design, and/or a terminal degree (e.g. Ph.D., D.B.A., J.D., etc.).
