Student Services Associate - Internship Coordinator

This position performs work that affects business operations to a substantial degree and will be the instructor of record for the Emergency Management Internship Program. The Student Services Associate will be responsible for coordinating internships for all BSEM students. This position is responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with agencies in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, assisting students/employers in finding the right fit, site visits, and monitoring of internships. The Student Services Associate work has a direct impact on the EMGT Program's growth and success. This position will also work with program outreach and assessment, alumni relations, the program advisory board, and other duties as assigned by the director.
Internships / Practicums
• Serve as the Internship Coordinator.
• Build partnerships and internship opportunities for students.
• Consult with employers regarding optimal marketing strategies to connect students to internships and jobs and to collaborate on events and workshops.
• Collect and maintain internship data.
• Track relevant data (internship agreements, evaluations provider and student, and collection of final paper).
• Conduct site visits for internships currently in progress.
• Match students and employers with internships that meet their needs.
• Act as a liaison to mediate and resolve issues related to student's internship placement.
• Help promote and market the EMGT Program and programs in SPA
• Coordinate production of program reports and newsletters
• Attend recruitment events
• Work with communications team to help program promotion on social media
• Assist with event scheduling and organization (Conferences, workshops, training events) and coordinate production of program reports and newsletters
• Maintain Relationships with program graduates
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Microsoft Suite (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and knowledge of PeopleSoft (Mavlink) or ability to learn MavLink are a must.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to travel locally for internship site visits.
Salary Information:
$40,000-$42,000/year
