Do you have the drive to help others prepare for disaster situations and navigate the response and recovery process? As an educator, you will create and deliver relevant and meaningful learning experiences that are focused on critical issues that empower Nebraskans to improve their lives. As a coordinator, you will develop and support systems that are focused on Nebraska Extension's internal operations for disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation, and you will represent the organization for external emergency management processes. As a member of the Nebraska Extension team, you will collaborate with research and extension faculty who are leaders in their field. You will work with high-performing teams to create and deliver world-class, innovative learning experiences that empower Nebraskans to improve their lives around critical issues.
We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time faculty position located in Nebraska and serving statewide. Office location to be determined by the successful candidate and Nebraska Extension administration. We want individuals who are self-directed and able to work in a flexible environment. The focus of this position will be disaster education and coordination. The geographic region is statewide, covering all counties. This educator and coordinator is expected to demonstrate expertise in emergency management, adult education, program evaluation, and leadership. This person must be skilled in communication, curriculum and program development, logistics and operations implementation, and team and group facilitation. The incumbent is required to be in Lincoln, Nebraska upon 24-hour notice when summoned for an emergency situation.

Required Qualifications
• Master's degree required; one degree in emergency management, disaster science, or a closely related field, or one of Nebraska Extension's eight program areas with demonstrated experience, contributions, and leadership related to disaster education, response, mitigation, and recovery. Master's degree must be completed by the start date.
• Successful experience teaching and coordinating team efforts in a formal or non-formal setting.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate (i.e., publications, presentations, web and social media).
Preferred Qualifications
• Outstanding leadership skills as demonstrated by roles in college, career, and/or community activities.
• Understanding of different ethnic and socioeconomic audiences and a commitment to developing and delivering both inclusive and targeted programming.
• Successful experience in developing financial support for educational programs including grant writing, fund generation, contracting, and/or cost recovery efforts.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and programs.
• Experience navigating disaster response and recovery situations.
