Nebraska Extension has an excellent opportunity for a full-time faculty position located in Lincoln, Nebraska and serving statewide. This is a 12-month, non-tenured faculty position. The educator's base will be in Lincoln, Nebraska. The subject matter focus for this educator is watershed science, including regional-scale water resources management. The primary responsibility for the Watershed Science Educator is to coordinate the development and delivery of Watershed Science education to adults in Nebraska, including key decision-makers at local and state levels. Collaboration with Nebraska state agencies, including Nebraska Department of Natural Resources, Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy, and local Natural Resources Districts is a critical component of the position. This educator will conduct programming statewide, engage in professional development and be an active participant in the statewide Crops and Water Systems Team.

Required Qualifications:
• Master's degree required and must be completed prior to the start date; one degree in Environmental Science; Environmental Studies; Water Science; Hydrology; Hydrogeology; Biological, Agricultural, Civil or Environmental Engineering; or closely related field.
• Successful experience teaching in a formal and/or informal setting.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate (i.e. publications, presentations, web, and/or social media).
• Working knowledge of groundwater and/or surface water systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Outstanding leadership skills as demonstrated by roles in college, career, and/or community activities.
• Understanding of different ethnic and socioeconomic audiences and a commitment to developing and delivering both inclusive and targeted programming.
• Successful experience in developing financial support for educational programs including grant writing, fund generation, contracting and/or cost recovery efforts.
• Experience in the development and implementation of online educational programs.
