Perform all aspects of maintenance and carpentry. Estimate project costs and schedule. Select materials and methods. Requisition supplies and materials. Coordinate with subcontractors and project managers. Work from blueprints, plans, sketches, and general descriptions. Construct, erect, install and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard using carpenter's tools and power tools.
Duties include layout/frame/erect walls; install all types of wall covering and some floor covering; and hang pictures, blackboards, whiteboards, maps, cabinets, shelves, doors, and windows. Conform to local building codes and University design standards. Complete small construction projects including masonry and concrete work. Perform other work/projects as directed by management. Must be available 24/7 by personal cell phone to support daily operations and respond to campus emergencies, as well as periodic on-call rotations on weekends and after hours. Criminal history background check, driving record review and pre-placement physical will be conducted.
