UNL is committed to creating a campus free from discrimination and harassment, and the Civil Rights Training Specialist fills an important role in this effort. Under the direction of the Assistant Director for Institutional Equity and Compliance/Title IX Coordinator, the Civil Rights Training Specialist provides training for the campus community on Title IX, discrimination, harassment, and other related topics. Responsibilities will include: Developing and conducting training related to equal opportunity, nondiscrimination, and the prevention of sexual misconduct for UNL students and employees in compliance with law and university policy. Tracking training participation and identifying opportunities to increase training completion. Surveying the campus community to identify gaps in training, barriers to reporting, and other matters related to civil rights compliance. Partnering with university communications to share information with the campus community. Creating reports and presentations. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant training and communications experience; equivalent education/ experience considered. Familiarity with learning management platforms and other educational technologies. Proficiency in the use of Zoom, Microsoft Office programs, and applications used for designing training programs. Experience developing and facilitating training programs for adults and best practices in online education. Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to evolving priorities. Demonstrated experience in working on diverse groups and teams.
