Irrigation Technician

Plan, organize and support the operation and maintenance of campus landscape irrigation systems, including all new construction and renovation projects. Operate and maintain equipment and machinery safely, as needed. Participate in planning and in removing snow and ice in assigned zones and elsewhere on campus. Special responsibilities may be in garden and arboretum areas. Train other staff and students in performance of their duties. Monitor and provide feedback on work performed. Determine and coordinate specialized seasonal operations. Operate and maintain equipment as necessary, such as plows, tractors, sprayers, and other landscape equipment. Maintain logs and records to schedule work. Coordinate with Assistant Managers and other crews as needed. Remove snow and ice from steps, sidewalks and drives using manual and powered equipment and materials. Frequent travel to various work areas and work in inclement weather required. Evening and weekend work may be required on occasion. Other duties as assigned.
