$28/hour - $36/hour (Rate will be set based on directly related background/ experience.)

Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31-day break from employment. The position is responsible for:
- Providing consultation to campus business officers/liaisons and advising on classification and compensation matters
- Job analysis, new position classification (EHRA/SHRA), existing position classification/competency, pay range, career band and FLSA exempt/non-exempt determination
- Analyzing organizational structure of client units; developing and proposing alternative staffing configurations to enhance unit effectiveness
- Conducting job/desk audits and research
- Documenting outcomes, conducting compensation (market/equity) analysis and communicating outcomes.
- Performing market and equity analysis on positions to assess salaries and proactively addresses compensation issues
- Assisting with salary survey participation
- Data queries and accurate data entry in various internal/external systems (Banner, DataMart, PeopleAdmin, SSRS)
- Other related duties/projects as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree with a focus on business, human resources, finance or closely related field or equivalent combination of education/work experience
- Ability to perform research, analysis of data and collected information to be applied against specific standards and compliance
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience researching, analyzing, interpreting, and applying rules, regulations, policies, procedures to be applied against specific standards and compliance
- Two years of experience in a classification and compensation role
- Classification and compensation experience in public agency/higher education setting
- Knowledge/familiarity with UNC System Class & Comp policies and procedures
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot tables, charts and mail merge)
- Advanced analytical and research skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
