Remote Eligible Within Iowa – IT-Network & Infrastructure Services
Impact & Responsibilities: Assists Senior Systems/Applications Administrators with installation and configuration of Linux systems, hardware and software supporting UNI systems; installs and configures application software; coordinates implementation and revision of applications and systems; assists with implementing recovery plans and security measures for systems; monitors performance of Linux-based based systems; and provides on-call and off-hours support as needed.
This position will work as a member of two teams within Information Technology with exciting opportunities to work with enterprise systems, applications, and storage. This position is eligible to be performed remotely within the state of Iowa. Employees who elect remote work must comply with the requirements of our remote work policy and agreement.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in an IT related field; an Associate's degree in an IT related field plus at least three years of IT related experience may be substituted.
Required Experience: Experience installing LINUX operating systems, proven ability to provide excellent customer service, effectively communicate, and meet deadlines.
Student experience will be considered.
Preferred: Experience with SQL; familiarity with backup, recovery, utilities, tuning, performance monitoring, and an understanding of data security, integrity, basic networking, configuration management, scripting/programming experience, and consistency.
