Create a scoring system based on patient co-morbidities to determine surgical care pathway
Formalizing and implementing a “fragility scoring system” for all preoperative patients
Creation and detail analysis of workflows within the PAC
o work with the Pre-anesthesia clinic and IT to implement the system into the department’s workflow & EMR
- Developing a communication tree between surgery, internal medicine and anesthesiology regarding preoperative optimization and stratification of in-house surgical patients
- Developing protocols/pathways to assist with the optimization/stratification of complex in-house surgical patients
- Auditing of the department’s SCOAP (surgical time out) compliance and surgical briefing attendance
- Assisting with vetting PSN’s and activing participating in our surgical services and anesthesiology CQI process.
his position will review all surgical procedures, including but not limited to investigating details within the PSN program. Findings will be presented to leadership within the Anesthesia Department via electronic presentation, PowerPoint and Excel.
Requires Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences, Master's Degree in Physician Assistant. Two to three years of Physician Assistant experience.
