Washington County Roads Superintendent
Washington County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for the position of Roads Superintendent.
A Qualified applicant will plan, direct and budget the activities of the Roads Department. He or She will be Responsible for the planning, designing and implementation of maintenance and construction procedures of all county roads, bridges and highway structures.
The Washington County Roads Superintendent will need to be a Culture Builder and Leader who fosters a positive team environment at all times. A successful candidate will be a manager who develops talent within the Roads Department and creates a culture of excellence amongst his or hers subordinates.
This position will also require a person who is proficient with computers and implementing new technology to help the Roads Department run more efficiently.
The following certifications as a Class S & B Highway Superintendent in the State on Nebraska and Bridge Inspector Licenses are preferred but not required. If applicant does not possess these certifications or Licenses they would need to attain them within an 18 month period after hiring.
Desired applicants will be those people who want to work with and Lead a great team of dedicated county employees. You will also need to have experience working in the Roads Construction field. Leadership experience is also a requirement.
This position also requires you have the ability to:
- Stand and Walk for Prolonged periods of time
- Be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Possess a Valid State Drivers license at all times
- Successfully pass a Criminal Background Check
