Electrician Apprentice Hyannis, MA. To help electricians by performance duties require less skill such as supply materials/tools, clean work area & equipment; measure, cut, & bend wire/conduit with measuring tools, trace short circuits using test meter, strip insulation from wire using strippers & attach wires to terminals for soldering, examine electrical units for loose connects, broken in sul. & tighten connects; construct controllers & panels, using drills, drill presses, taps, saws, & punches; drill holes & pull or push wiring through openings; maintain tools, vehicles, & equipment & keep parts & supplies in order; transport tools, materials, equipment, & supplies to work site; install copper-clad ground rods, using manual post driver; thread conduits, connect couplings, make conduit support brackets; disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace defective parts, & reassemble equipment; erect electrical system components, rig scaffolds, hoists, & shoring; perform semi-skilled/ unskilled laboring duties related to install, maintain/repair of wide variety of electrical systems & equipment; dig trenches for install of conduit; position equipment, tools, & materials, using hoist, hand line, etc.; string transmission lines or cables thru ducts or conduits, underground, through equipment, or to towers; solder electrical connections using soldering iron; trim trees & clear brush; bolt component parts to form tower assemblies; operate cutting torches & welding equipment. HS diploma or equivalent & 12 months experience required.
